SHANECO Group will conduct a social impact assessment of the Combined Oil Refining Unit at the Moscow Oil Refinery.
The CORU is designed for the primary distillation of crude oil and the production of Euro-5-standard gasoline and diesel fuels, and vacuum gas oil and shall replace outdated equipment.
Certain international lenders contemplate giving a loan to MNPZ for the CORU. International financing will require a SIA in line with IFC Environmental and Social Performance Standards. Following the SIA, SHANECO will develop the following plans and programmes:
- A framework Environmental and Social Management Plan;
- A community health management plan;
- A management plan for accommodation of temporary workforce;
- Instructions for contractors to reduce transport risks.
During the SIA, consultations with stakeholders and an induction workshop for MNPZ team in IFC Performance Standards will be held.
